Job Details
A Junior CSS Developer will need to be competent in hand-coding CSS and HTML and show originality in their creative ideas. The candidate will have developed across Windows, Mac browsing environments and have experience of web and accessibility standards (W3C). An ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and work within a team will be central to your success in this role. The key task is to be able to recreate designs to a pixel-perfect standard, demonstrating a keen attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to Head of CSS, and working closely with Developers, Designers and Project Managers
- Liaising with designers and project managers to ensure that client expectations are met
- Taking Designs from Adobe Photoshop and recreating them as pixel-perfect websites demonstrating a keen eye for detail
- Producing deployment quality work that is largely bug free
- Testing your work in the most popular browsers
- Testing your work on the most popular tablet devices
- Testing your work on thez most popular mobile devices
- Attending regular website audits to critique work and develop new techniques for delivering high quality websites
- Complete QA bug fixes to your own work
- Accurately record your hours in our time tracking software
Job Requirements
Advanced Level:
- Passionate about mastering Frontend Development (HTML & CSS)
- Web & Accessibility Standards (W3C) and Cross-Browser testing
- Attention to detail to produce pixel-perfect implementation of Designs
- Responsive Web Design
Foundation Level:
- Using Adobe Photoshop
- Frontend Frameworks (e.g Bootstrap)
- Cross-browser behaviour and compatibility issues
- Email Templating
- HTML5 & CSS3
- Media Queries
- Grid systems
Entry Level:
- Experience developing with legacy browsers
- Content Management Systems,
- Development for WordPress
- Javascript (JQuery)
Beneficial Skills & Knowledge:
- Pre-processors, particularly LESS
- Experienced working with JIRA, File Versioning (SVN / GIT), PHP and Graphic Design
