Job Details
The Technical Assistant works in close connection with the students and investigators in ACROSS, to contribute, with his/her skills in computer science, web-based technologies, and communication, to a better integration and greater efficiency of the research conducted in ACROSS:
- • Making sure that all the software and experimental setups produced in the lab are up and working
- • Helping to coordinate the computer developments made by the team on GitHub
- • Setting up and maintaining the website of the laboratory as well as the websites of the associated projects (PREMISS, SUCCESS, GAMA, COMOKIT…)
- • Designing, with the researchers, the experimental setups for participatory simulations and the access to high-performance computing infrastructures
- • Ensuring that online resources (incl. online simulations and demos on the GAMA platform https://gama-platform.org) are accessible and up to date
- • Applying software engineering methods to improve the quality of the code produced in the project
Job Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or data science; FRESH GRADUATES are welcome to apply!
- • At least 6 months ++ of experience in programming languages such as Java or C++ and integrated development environments such as Eclipse or IntelliJ.
- • A knowledge of web technologies and/or WebGL would be a plus.
- • Good verbal and written communication skills in English (mandatory) to be able to interact fluently with the international staff. French would be a plus.
- • Good ability to understand complex technical tasks, target-oriented and self-driven working style.
- • Strong teamwork skills. Experience in multidisciplinary international projects would be a plus.
- • Be committed to working for at least 12 months. The position is supposed to be full-time, but this can be discussed during the interview.
