The role of the UI/UX Designer is not only a talented designer who has the skill not only to create high quality graphics, but also having the ability to apply their creations to a user-centered design. He/She must be able to understand how the users will want to instinctively interact with the UI, and provide them with the ability to perform their tasks intuitively.
Job Requirements
- Study users to deeply understand their SSNiFs (stakeholders, situations, needs leading to the right features)
- Follows best practices to create UI/UX design
- Takes feedback from customers/peers
- Work with a team of designers and product managers/project managers to understand the business requirements and help sculpt the product vision
- Be a part of a design process involving research, experimentation, and revision.
- Define interaction models, user task flows, and UI specifications. Communicate scenarios, end-to-end experiences, interaction models, and screen designs to stakeholders
- Elicit constructive feedback and capable of interpreting that feedback into design solutions
- Perform field research to discover and implement important design details that people may not realize they need.
- Work with UX design colleagues in other areas to generate more creative ideas, and to ensure cross-suite consistency and integration
- Create rapid interactive prototypes (wireframes, mockups, storyboards, sitemap & specifications) as needed
- Partner with engineering throughout lifecycle to ensure your designs are developed
- Create and document advancements to our standards in our style guide for others to use
- Researching interaction design trends
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications Design, Human Computer Interaction Design, New Media Design or related design field and 2 years of experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer or similar.
- Ability to solve all sorts of design challenges with creativity, efficiency and precision; a full stack designer (interaction, usability, graphic design, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Design experiences for desktop, web, phone, PDA and tablet
- Experience using Axure or similar tools ( Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch, Fireworks, In Vision) to create interactive prototypes
- Experience with user interface design patterns and standard User Centric Design (UCD) methodologies
- Strong visual design skills: Latest trends, color and typography.
- A passion for sematic markup and standards
- Experience with iOS design, Android design, front-end design, OSX design, interaction design, GUI design or usability is a nice-to-have
- Strong interaction design skills: wireframing, prototyping, HTML5, CSS3.
