Job Details

We are seeking a talented Backend Product Engineering Tech Lead to oversee our backend engineering efforts, including managing the Web team. This is not a full-stack role, but requires leading a full-stack team. The role requires strong engineering skills and care for the product to collaborate closely with the Product team while also driving significant product decisions.

Lead and manage the development of core backend systems, including:

• Edge Services: Product Backend, Notification Server, Authentication Server.
• Smart Contract Sync: Ensuring consistency between smart contract data and our databases.
• Native wallet enhancement: Work on optimising the performance of our wallet
• Testing: Enhance quality by adding unit/regression tests

Oversee functional projects such as:

• KYC processes for onboarding.
• Marketing and rewards build.
• Development and maintenance of internal portals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers and Web/Mobile engineering teams, to ensure cohesive product development and implementation.
• Strengthen GRVT’s authentication technology stack by working closely with the Head of Security to enhance security features like multi-factor authentication (MFA), WebAuthn, and secure session management.

Job Requirements

• Engineering Leadership: Proven experience in leading technical teams to deliver complex projects on time and with high quality.
• Product Sense: Strong product thinking with the ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers while making key product decisions.
• Technical Expertise:
  – Experience in backend engineering, particularly in building scalable and high-performance systems.
  – Proficiency in Go and familiarity with relational databases like PostgreSQL and caching systems such as Redis.
• Full Stack Experience: While not required, experience in full-stack development is beneficial for understanding the broader context and leading the team effectively.
• Blockchain Knowledge: While not a requirement, familiarity with blockchain technology and its applications in financial systems is advantageous. A strong interest in our mission is critical, and we will provide onboarding to our blockchain and zk-powered scaling solutions.
