Job Details
You will be given various assignments, but mostly projects for Japanese corporate customers.
Those assignments are either front-end Android app or back end server-side Java programming using Springboot.
You will be given assignments and instructions from a Team Leader in same office or bridge SE in Japan office. You will work in a small group of 3 to 4 programmers, plus a more experienced programmer such as a team leader. Team leader will check your progress frequently.
Basically, we expect you to work independently and produce output on time. But if you have concerns you can talk to team leader and fellow programmers for advice. We intend to create nice welcoming environment for beginners.
As a chief programmer, your tasks include not only do coding within you task, but also help entry level programmers. If they need help, you will give advice to them and help them grow.
Job Requirements
- Experience of server side programming and Java language in general, and able to code in Java from scratch.
- Experience of Java framework such as Spring Boot.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and AJAX.
- Experience of SQL database programming, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with Open Source tools such as Git and other programing languages.
- Familiarity of UML (Unified Modeling Language) and be able to communicate with other team members by using UML.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs.
- Ability to read and fully understand specs and other documents written in English.
- Candidate should have a good communication skill in order to work in a team.
- Candidate should be able to learn new technologies and skills quickly and apply to work.
- Candidate should be able to guide/teach fellow entry level programmers.
- Desired skill level: CP (Chief Programmer)
- Minimum work experience: 3+ years
- 2nd language requirement: English
Bonus points:
- Experience of working in small groups of less than 10 programmers.
- Most of our engineer is young, age of 20’s or early 30’s will be given higher priority.
- Ability to communicate either in English or Japanese.
- Familiarity of backend server technology, such as Linux and Cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity of AWS (Amazon Web Services).
- Experience of Android app programming.
