Job Details
- Administer, monitor, and evolve our database environment
- Participate in database-related dev-ops projects
- Develop and test data-related integrations with third party systems
- Plan, drive and implement capacity planning and best practices
- Participate in planning, maintenance and implementation of all aspects of database disaster recovery
- Administer database access and related security infrastructure and systems
- Set database performance best practices
- Review and approve all database schema and procedure changes
- Rapidly diagnose and fix problems
- On-call responsibility (including weekends)
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or similar preferred
- 3+ years of experience with DBA responsibilities in a transactional environment
- Proficiency in database administration including, backup/recovery/DR, replication, clustering, advanced performance tuning, and proactive monitoring
- Solid knowledge of MongoDB, MySQL internals, MS-SQL, SAP B1
- Willing to expand knowledge of other data technologies, including CloudBase and Redis
- Should have the skills to triage issues in an end-to-end manner with awareness of how web, application and caching tiers impact database performance and availability
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic and detail-oriented
- Must thrive in fast paced, results-driven startup environment
- Software development experience is preferred
- Fast learner, creative thinker, problem solver. Must love BIG data!
- Accountable, dedicated and willing to be on-call as needed
