Administer, monitor, and evolve our database environment
Participate in database-related dev-ops projects
Develop and test data-related integrations with third party systems
Plan, drive and implement capacity planning and best practices
Participate in planning, maintenance and implementation of all aspects of database disaster recovery
Administer database access and related security infrastructure and systems
Set database performance best practices
Review and approve all database schema and procedure changes
Rapidly diagnose and fix problems
On-call responsibility (including weekends)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or similar preferred
3+ years of experience with DBA responsibilities in a transactional environment
Proficiency in database administration including, backup/recovery/DR, replication, clustering, advanced performance tuning, and proactive monitoring
Solid knowledge of MongoDB, MySQL internals, MS-SQL, SAP B1
Willing to expand knowledge of other data technologies, including CloudBase and Redis
Should have the skills to triage issues in an end-to-end manner with awareness of how web, application and caching tiers impact database performance and availability
Highly motivated, enthusiastic and detail-oriented
Must thrive in fast paced, results-driven startup environment
Software development experience is preferred
Fast learner, creative thinker, problem solver. Must love BIG data!
Accountable, dedicated and willing to be on-call as needed
